Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share this information about NorthStar HomeSchool and Independent Study (HIS) with you today! We at NorthStar realize the value and efficacy of home schooling, and we want to support you in your commitment to home school your child(ren) by providing you with what we believe to be strong, researched, multi-media-rich, academically-challenging, thorough, and detailed lessons and lesson resources which have all been created by veteran teachers who have been teaching in our online teacher-led program of NorthStar Academy, which is an online school for students in grades 6-12.
ENROLLMENT for the 2009-2010 school year will close on June 1, 2010.
GRADE 6 has been added & several other new classes!
ENROLLMENT for the 2010-2011 school year opens April 19th!
NorthStar HomeSchool for the 2010-2011 school year kicks off on Monday, August 9th, and you may begin accessing your class lessons, assignments, and other resources from that date forward until the end of the school year in June 2011.
With NorthStar HIS you get
- Access to a full year’s worth of lesson plans, detailed lessons, assignments, project ideas, quizzes, and tests for a chosen subject or subjects
- Answer keys to tests and quizzes. Answer keys for daily assignments are not guaranteed for this school year as we are in the midst of building our homeschool program, but many of our daily assignments already come with "Self-Checking" answer keys built into the assignment document.
- A list of resources for each subject area (class) which complement these teacher-made lessons
- Everything that you need to teach your son or daughter a particular subject
- Empowerment to spend your time and energy with your child(ren) actually doing the teaching, coaching, tutoring, etc. while not having to spend so many hours of your time trying to write lesson plans, research the topics (maybe even learning the topics), establish schedules, re-familiarize yourself with the lesson content that you’ll be presenting to your child the next day, researching resources to help you present the lesson, and so on.
