Greetings fellow Northstar Students,
This won't be a long address, because no one would ever read it without some sort of funny punch line at the end. Don't worry, you can read my humor column in a few minutes.
Many of you are aware that I became NSA's Student Council President just a few weeks ago. In case you're wondering why Northstar Academy has a student council, here is a short excerpt from the NSA Constitution explaining our roles and responsibilities:
The Student Council is a body of student leaders that is dedicated to encouraging and maintaining a fun, friendly, and spiritually edifying atmosphere throughout the student population of NSA, working closely with the Principal (Mr. Bowers) in this endeavor. The Student Council's primary duties [in past years have been]: maintaining the Student Café (and all its subfolders), organizing various student activities, and publishing the school newspaper (the Navigator).
Unfortunately, most of you were probably not aware of our existence until recently. This year we are aiming to change that. Your Student Council is composed of a talented team of dedicated individuals who are committed to improving your Northstar experience both in the social and educational aspects. Since we value communication with you, we will be using the Navigator Newspaper , School News folder and Student Cafés to convey various important pieces of information to the student body. If you ever have a question, concern, suggestion or idea that you think would make NSA a more interesting, entertaining or enjoyable experience please do not hesitate to email me at micah@northstar-academy.org . We are actively looking for ways to further connect and network students together but we need your assistance ! For some of you, that might be entering the Student Café and greeting someone you don't know. For others it might be requesting a new folder be created in the Interest Areas. In any case, we gladly welcome your participation and wish to serve you all as best as we can. As Robert E. Lee once said, “Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more. You should never do less.” Please join with us as we work towards a better and more successful school year.
Are you still waiting for that clever punch line? You have a humor columnist for a President.
Uh oh…
Sincerely,
Micah Engel
