"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire."

Hebrews 12: 28-29 NIV

Hello Readers!

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans! I hope this issue falls around a time when you can kick back and enjoy the articles!

In this third issue you will notice we have a lot of articles to offer you; however, you may also notice that there seem to be some missing. Let me explain: We the Navigator staff took pity on our readers. After one look at the 17 articles pouring in from writers all around the world we decided to try a little experiment: alternating issues. Basically what this means is that we paired up each article with another of the same type of genre. (ie: Life in the Slow Lane is paired up with Cara Anderson's Informal Essay) In one issue one of the articles is published, and in the next issue, the other one. We're testing out our idea on issue 3 and 4.

We have a number of new columns this issue! "The Open Mic" invites your participation! Just contact me if you want to submit an article. The student council has started a column to let you know the progress of their affairs; hear this issue from our president Micah Engel. "Batch of Secrets" will give you tips on how to make the best parmesan chicken around; we also urge you to join the Christmas baking contest. I hope you video game fans will be able to glean plenty of helpful and interesting information about new games in our new video games column hosted by expert Nathan Kendall.

The sports column will regrettably not be returning, but other columns this issue include Snap Shots interesting photo analysis, and the Reporter Team's fabulous tidbits on the happenings of NSA. Oh, and the humor column, hilarious--again.

Until next issue,
Heather Ann Wicker
Senior Editor

A Technical Letter from the Producer

As stated in our last issue, the ideal browser to view the Navigator is Internet Explorer. So for your best viewing experience, please open the Navigator with Internet Explorer if possible. In addition, as mentioned in Issue 2, the Navigator possesses no malicious content meant to harm your computer. However, you may still receive some security alerts while viewing the articles. Please allow "ActiveX controls and Scripts" to run while viewing the Navigator in order for all the effects which have been included to operate as intended by the creators for you, the viewers.

Regrettably, not many additions have been placed into this Navigator apart from some color scheme alterations and new in-article Navigation Button effects. Slide Down menus have also been included in a few of the articles featuring either Advertisements for future articles or facts. All you need to do is click on the gray bar to open the menu and click on it again to close the bar. Please note that these will not work if you do not allow scripts to run while viewing the Navigator.

Due to some slight troubles, the launching of the NorthStar Navigator Online Version has been halted and will resume once the new NorthStar Academy Website has been launched.

As usual, we appreciate any and all comments and/or constructive criticism as long as the comments are politely submitted. Please forward your comments to navteam@northstar-academy.org . Once the Online Version of the Navigator is launched, we will include a special area where you, the reader, can submit your comments directly from the Navigator itself. This is just one of many features that are being prepared to come!

Enjoy!
