Painting is seen as picture making, the making of an art object, something that can stand on its own.
Peter Wright

Digital cameras are a wonderful creation. The fact that you can look at your pictures before they are developed is a great feature that helps many photographers. When I take a good picture, I first look at it on my computer, try it in black and white, sepia, and focal black and white. Then, if it needs certain contrasts or light effects, I’ll add those. I am adding what I think is best to make my picture look better. Sometimes I’ll crop if there is something that takes away from the pictures beauty. God does the same thing in our lives. When God adds or takes away certain things in His timing, He is making us who He wants us to be, a beautiful picture. He is forming and shaping until we can learn to stand up against those things that could harm us. Sometimes it’s hard to let Him crop and cut certain things out of our lives, but it is necessary for growth to take place. Each moment that God crops us, we loose just a little piece of that whole picture, which is exactly what happens when we crop our pictures. We’ll never be what He made us to be exactly, but we can strive to be more like the Perfect picture, His Son. Are you giving God control of every aspect of your life? Are you letting Him cut out of the unnecessary add-ons?

Hebrews 12:7-11 (click to open)
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

“We, too, at various places in our spiritual journey, fall away from the Lord and become off center. Even if it occurs slightly, it needs to be corrected for us to become a balanced and finished work. God will often discipline us to correct the problem. While His forgiveness covers our offenses, we lose ground to sin and thus lose potential for our usefulness during that time.
