Hello dear readers,

Another month, another Navigator issue. Before revealing anything about this issue, there are a couple of non-Navigator­ related issues to announce:

First of all, amazing as it may seem, the time to fill out yearbook surveys is upon us. Much as some of us may dislike doing it, reading over other people’s entries (as well as reading your own; by the time it’s published you’ve forgotten what you wrote!) is a blast at the end of the year. To find the survey, enter the school news folder and scroll down until you find the email “Yearbook for Northstar.” So do us all a favor and fill out that survey; send it and your picture to Ms. Permann ASAP!

Secondly, deep in the dungeons of NSA, Beth Friesen and Heather-Ann Wicker are forging a TOP SECRET idea. To find out more, please email either of the above two mentioned; parent enquiries are desired and welcomed.

Additionally, many of you have, no doubt, heard of the tornados sweeping across the southern states this last week. I myself have family and close friends who were affected by the tornado, most of all a couple of the students attending Union University. Miraculously, no one was killed, although the property damage and emotional toll was high. I have decided that the way I can help the students there is through prayer. I invite you to join me. Every morning from Monday, February 11th, through Thursday, February 14th, I will be in the prayer chat in the Student Cafe from about 2:30 PM GMT until 3:00 PM GMT. I am going to try and obtain specific prayer requests and praises from the students and let them know we are praying. Again, please do join me if possible.

Having cleared those items out of the way, let’s return to Issue 6 of the Navigator! First of all, as you’ve probably already noticed, we have a new template; I’ll stop there and let Manny elaborate on the details (see below). An enormous amount of effort went into each article this issue. You can honor the authors by both reading and responding to their articles. Please do give them the encouragement by writing to them; I know they probably get tired of hearing it from me all the time!

Again, please remember that any articles missing here will be present in issue 7 due to our alternating issues plan.

A Technical letter from the Producer

Welcome to the Sixth Issue of the NorthStar Navigator. Although we aren't presenting you with an entirely new Template this issue (that's coming soon), we are presenting you with new visual "treats" like the Navigator Bar graphic which is to the left of this message. More animations have also been included and you can be sure we will include more entertaining features in later issues for you to enjoy. Please remember to allow Javascript to run while viewing the NS Navigator. We suggest you use Internet Explorer to view the Navigator and not Mozilla Firefox; the Navigator's appearance is distorted if viewed with FireFox.

New buttons have been included for the articles, they are simple, nicely curved and we hope that although they don't perform spectacular functions, that they will make your navigation to different articles more visually appealing than in previous issues! Additionally, the Navigation Bar of this page is now featured as a slide-down menu and included in the slide down menu is the new "NEWS ALERT" area in which we will include any NorthStar Academy urgent info. Once again, the Navigator Online Version has been prepared and is ready to be placed on the Web as soon as the NS Academy website is up and running!

We look forward to reading all comments/suggestions which are submitted by our viewers (be them parents or students). It can not be said enough how much we need your suggestions! The Nav Staff has been blessed with some truly talented members who will do all that they can to make your experience the best possible, so take advantage of that and tell us what you'd like to see and/or what you'd like to read!
