ACT Math & Science Preparation (CLCR235)
College Preparation & Career
0.5 (semester course)
ACT Science & Math Prep is designed to prepare the student to do well on the ACT exam. The course will familiarize the student with the format of the science and math sections of the ACT and will teach the student testing techniques and strategies. The course will also include a comprehensive review of basic mathematics, algebra, geometry, statistics, and other math concepts needed for success on the ACT. This class is taught by NSA faculty but also extensively uses an outside online source so students can customize their practice and review, according to their individual strengths and weaknesses. Students will take several full-length ACT exams for practice throughout the course.
Students must have access to a TI-83 or TI-84 or other SAT approved graphing calculator. CLCR 235 counts as an elective course.
Are you taking the ACT in a few months? A year? This class will help prepare you for the ACT and give you a thorough review on the topics the ACT covers. This practical course is designed to give you practice in math and science topics, with ample resources to review and learn concepts where you may be a little rusty. Come join others on this journey of preparation for a high stakes test!

This course is great!
I got a 30 on my first try on the ACT after taking this class.
I just took the June ACT test, and from my last score (before this class) to the most recent one, my ACT Mathematics section bumped up 4 points, and my science bumped up 3 points. This is not really an “I Need Help” post, but more so a praise post! I hope to keep it up! My goal is to get a 26 on the ACT, so I still need to do some more work. But I am thankful for this class!
