English 3: American Literature EVP

Description:

What people think about God, affects the way they live; how people live, reveals what they think about God. Over the years, Americans have lived lives that reveal all too much about what they think about God. In this course, we will observe how Americans starting from the beginning of the nation lived and what they believed as demonstrated through literature. We will explore how history and worldview influences literature and how that same literature then influences the nation! Additionally, we will analyze and critique historical events, worldviews, and literature as it relates to the Word in order to see God’s truth in everything and His plan for everyone!

Join us as we go through history and literature to discover answers to the great question: What makes American Literature American?

FROM THE TEACHER

Because our God is a creative God, I value creativity in my work and in my students. Since students learn differently, I enjoy innovating new ways to make difficult material tangible for them in a variety of ways. In my course, I try to mix learning styles with different, yet engaging activities to make English and Literature more tangible and relatable to this generation. My goal is to expose students to a variety of writing, stories, and styles in order to give them a tool box for effectively communicating their own ideas, stories, and voice. Student individuality is significant, and I love interacting with each student God has chosen especially for me to teach and learn from in return. I look forward to joining you on your academic journey and coming alongside you at this time in your life!

Student Feedback

I don’t think I would have done so well in this course, without the extra help in the live classes. It was also great to get to know my classmates!

The interaction on the live sessions was very enjoyable. I think the due dates in the course were perfect and made following deadlines easy.

The videos and activities the teacher put in the course were very engaging and useful. They provided insight and examples to the material we were learning. The videos the teacher made herself were also very informative.
