Position Overview:

Independent Teacher Contractors at NSA facilitate online courses with a commitment to biblical integration, instructional excellence, and student engagement. Contractors are responsible for delivering online instruction, assessment, and student support services in alignment with NorthStar’s mission and established quality standards for online Christian education. This is an independent contractor role, not an employment position. Contractors manage their own schedules, tools, and methods while providing services in alignment with NorthStar’s academic and spiritual mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver contracted online teaching services, including grading, providing quality feedback, managing communication, and supporting student learning in assigned courses
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on academic progress
  • Monitor course pacing and student engagement, addressing issues proactively
  • Post announcements, update course information, and support ongoing course maintenance in the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Pray for and spiritually encourage students in alignment with biblical truth
  • Communicate with parents, guardians, and NSA staff as needed in a professional and Christ-honoring manner
  • Participate in optional NSA community activities to foster connection and encouragement for students.
  • Deliver services in alignment with the NSA Teacher Contractor Handbook and agreed-upon course standards.
  • Contribute ideas for enhancing online learning experiences, embracing innovation and lifelong learning as part of NorthStar’s culture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field, or active enrollment in a master’s degree program, required
  • Teaching experience (online experience preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technological proficiency with online platforms and educational tools
  • Agreement with and commitment to NorthStar Academy’s Statement of Faith and mission

Certification Requirements:

  • Valid teaching certification or equivalent credential in relevant subject area(s)
