Position Overview:
The Director of Technology serves as a key steward of NorthStar Academy’s digital systems and infrastructure, ensuring that the school’s technology environment faithfully supports teaching, learning, discipleship, and global community.
This role provides technical expertise and hands-on leadership to maintain and strengthen NorthStar’s Learning Management System, Student Information System, website, and integrated platforms, while ensuring data accuracy, security, and operational reliability.
Working collaboratively across departments, the Director of Technology supports faculty, staff, students, and families by equipping them with dependable systems, clear processes, and responsive support. This role also contributes to data-informed decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis, helping leadership steward resources wisely, support sound operations, and serve the NorthStar community with excellence and integrity.

This role approaches innovation with discernment, prayer, and alignment to biblical truth, ensuring that new tools serve people well and advance NorthStar’s mission rather than distract from it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Steward and support the school’s LMS, SIS, and integrated technology systems in service of student learning, faculty effectiveness, and the broader school community.
- Manage and update the school’s website and related tools (e.g., WordPress).
- Provide accurate data management, reporting, and analysis (including SQL, raw data extraction, and Excel/Google Sheets) to support wise leadership decisions, institutional clarity, and faithful stewardship.
- Ensure cybersecurity, privacy, and data integrity across platforms, protecting students, families, staff, and institutional trust.
- Collaborate with academic and operational teams to develop thoughtful, mission-aligned technology solutions that meet instructional and organizational needs.
- Assist with system integrations, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Provide clear guidance and training that equips staff and faculty to use digital tools with confidence, clarity, and consistency.
- Support the IT Support Specialist by handling higher-level technical tasks.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, that enhance learning, efficiency, and clarity, in collaboration with academic and operational leadership.
- Assist with testing, documentation, and staff support for newly adopted tools and systems, helping ensure smooth implementation and consistent use across teams.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong technical skills in SQL, HTML, CSS, and WordPress.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), and SaaS.
- Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools or APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret raw data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Certification Requirements:
None required; industry-recognized certifications preferred
