An Overview of Our High School Courses
NorthStar high school students have the opportunity to have a fully accredited Christian education, online. Along with core subjects and honors courses, students can choose from nearly twenty Advanced Placement® (AP®) courses, Dual Credit, and many electives.
Students will gain an understanding of introductory Christian doctrine, including salvation, the study of the Bible, and the power of prayer.
Students discover, compare, and analyze literature and media from many different sources, including American literature, British literature, journalism, film, mythology, and folklore.
Our math courses help students explore practical mathematic concepts in algebra, statistics, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus.
Students will use labs, quests, and creative projects to learn about a broad range of scientific disciplines, including chemistry, physical science, environmental science, biology, anatomy, and astronomy.
In our social studies courses, students will use reading and comprehension, creativity, and critical thinking skills to understand global perspectives through the lens of ancient world history, modern world history, economics, U.S. history, psychology, and sociology.
Electives may reflect a student’s interests, introduce or improve skills, or be directly related to a career direction. Our high school electives fall into six categories: physical education and health, career readiness, college prep, languages, fine arts, and computers/electronics.
