Kayla O’Hern

Teacher

As a science teacher for NorthStar Academy, I look forward to sharing my passion for the sciences with my students and exploring the majesty and wonder of God’s creation through the lens of academia.

I currently live in Southwest Mississippi amidst the pines and clover with my husband, two daughters, and three dogs. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, fishing, and enjoying whatever adventures come our way.

Experience

1 year as Chemistry/7th & 8th Grade Science Teacher in Public School

8 years as Chemistry/Biology/Physical Science Teacher in Christian Private School

Qualification

Master’s Degree in General Biology from Mississippi State University

Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences with Licensure and Minor in Chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi

Certification

Mississippi: Class AA Certification in Biology, Chemistry, and 7-12 General Science
