Algebra 2 (MATH300)
1.0 (yearlong course)
Algebra 1 (MATH100)
This course begins with a review of key Algebra 1 topics such as solving equations and inequalities, graphing linear equations and solving linear systems of equations. The course then transitions into covering matrices, quadratics, conic sections, polynomials, radical equations, exponential and logarithmic equations, sequences & series, and rational equations. This course also includes a unit on trigonometry and probability.
Students will be guided in their learning through written material, videos, and web-based activities and assessments.
The recommended sequence for students taking non-Honors courses: MATH100, MATH200, MATH300 followed by their choice of MATH310, MATH410, MATH420, MATH440, or MATH510.
Students need access to a scanner or digital camera (phone is fine) in order to submit work for the teacher to review. Students will also need a TI-84 graphing calculator for this course.
FROM THE TEACHER
There is a mathematical description for everything that happens around us, from the patterns of the tide to why squirrels run in front of cars. In this course, we will be exploring how God uses math to describe His moral character to us. Some of the concepts that we will be exploring include transformations, exponentials and logarithms, introductory statistics, and introductory calculus. We will also be working on building mathematical communication skills that will help you when connecting with others at a STEM based level.
If there are books and materials for this course, they can be purchased from our Online Bookstore.
This course was really well laid out and I really enjoyed it! Thank you NSA!
This was a a very enjoyable class, and I am very glad I took it! Needless to say, I learned more math!
I enjoyed everything about this course! I didn’t feel bored about this course.
