Algebra 2 (MATH300)
1.0 (yearlong course)
Algebra 1 (MATH100) & Geometry (MATH200)
Algebra 2 covers those topics common to most traditional Algebra 2 courses but also incorporates topics including trigonometry, statistics, and pre-calculus readiness. Applications within the areas of physics, chemistry, set theory, and probability as well as graphing calculators are also woven into the course. The interactive textbook on CD and the regular text with digital access both include video tutorials to accompany each lesson. Technology and graphing calculators are used extensively in this course to reinforce the concepts covered. All students must possess a TI-84 graphing calculator.
Access to a scanner or digital camera is necessary for this course as students will be required to submit work on assignments frequently throughout the semester/year. Usage of a graphing calculator is also a requirement in this course. Only the TI-84 family is supported by our instructors.
Recommended sequence for students taking non-Honors courses: MATH100, MATH200, MATH300 followed by their choice of MATH310, MATH410, MATH440, or MATH510.
Geometry sure was fun, wasn't it? But do you have a thirst for abstract math that Geometry could not satisfy. Come join Algebra 2 Regulars, where we will be exploring the wonders of graphing, solving polynomial equations, trigonometry, statistics, and probability. In this class we will refine, strengthen and build algebra skills so that you will be well-prepared for the next high school class you would like to take and your college classes to come.
If there are books and materials for this course, they can be purchased from our Online Bookstore.
I am new to Northstar, so it was a little bit hard at the beginning. At the end I got used to it and it was easy to follow.
I love the class.
I never felt like I couldn't ask her for help.
