AP® Chemistry (CHEM500)
1.0 (yearlong course)
Chemistry (CHEM300) & Algebra 2 (MATH300); A grade of an 85% or higher in the subject area course taken the previous year
This course is designed to prepare students to successfully take the advanced placement exam in chemistry. Topics introduced in CHEM300 are explored in more depth and detail. The course utilizes hands-on labs, computer simulations, and lab videos to give students important laboratory experience. Videos and computer simulations are also used extensively as an aid in teaching chemistry concepts. This course, in combination with a course like CHEM300, is the equivalent of a first year college chemistry course. Students taking the course should expect a challenging and rigorous academic experience.
If you are planning to take the AP® exam associated with this course, then be aware that beginning in Fall 2019 the College Board requires that all students register in October of each school year to take the exam which is held in early May. You must make your decision early. There are penalties associated with late registration and with registering and then deciding not to take the exam at a later date. Please plan accordingly. For more information or if you have more questions, please visit https://apcentral.collegeboard.org . Once on the site, search Home-Schooled Students to find information on locating testing locations near you. Choosing an AP® course start date in July will make the student ineligible for CCU dual credit.

The organization was good and easy to follow.
This course was well set up with the right amount of work, considering that it was an AP® class.
Some of the video really helped me in some difficult topics.
