If you are planning to take the AP® exam associated with this course, then be aware that beginning in Fall 2019 the College Board requires that all students register in October of each school year to take the exam which is held in early May. You must make your decision early. There are penalties associated with late registration and with registering and then deciding not to take the exam at a later date. Please plan accordingly. Once on the site search Home-Schooled Students to find information on locating testing locations near you.
As you go about your life, you make many economic decisions. As a student, you decide how many years to stay in school. When you get a job you decide how much of your income to spend, how much to save, and how much to invest. Microeconomics is the part of economics concerned with single factors and the effects of individual decisions. Microeconomics only explains what to expect if certain conditions change. For example, If a manufacturer raises the prices of cars, microeconomics says consumers will tend to buy fewer than before. In this course you will learn the principles of Microeconomics. You will play interactive games, decide on how you would run your own business, and learn what the Bible says about economics and how to spend your money. You will be evaluated on what you learn by taking quizzes, tests, constructing charts, and research projects. This class is also designed to prepare you to take the AP® Microeconomics test in May. As you can see the principles of microeconomics can be applied to many of the situations that you find yourself in. Whether you read the paper, run your own business, or run for office one day, you will be glad that you studied microeconomics.
