Drawing 2 (DRAW102)
0.5 (semester course)
Drawing 1 (DRAW101)
Continue your exploration of drawing with an emphasis on figure and narrative drawing. Projects in this course will include portraits, landscapes, animal drawings, and illustration. Students will challenge themselves with advanced drawing techniques and exploration of a variety of artistic mediums including ink, charcoal, watercolor pencils, and oil pastels.
Each student needs weekly access to a scanner and/or a digital camera in order to submit artwork.
By the end of this course, you will no longer have to resort to drawing stick figures! Once you practice drawing proportions of the human body, faces, and hands you will have chances to refine your figure drawing in various projects, including story illustrations.
This course focuses on creating realistic-looking artworks and offers a chance to explore various drawing techniques while using charcoal, watercolor pencils, ink, and oil pastels in your projects. In addition to drawing people and thinking more about how man is made in the Image of God, you will have chances to reflect nature in art through landscapes and animal projects.
If you love to draw and want to be challenged, this is the class for you!
If there are books and materials for this course, they can be purchased from our Online Bookstore.
I really liked how some of the assignments and what we were learning in this course related back to the Bible, and that she assigned us to take some time to consider about them and make biblical connections.
It was great!
I enjoyed working with different art mediums. The assignments were sometimes challenging, but were fun to do. The examples and/or tutorials that were provided were helpful.
