Language Arts 6
This course is designed to develop student growth in literacy and writing abilities. Through a variety of text genres including fiction and nonfiction, students will learn reading strategies to assist in their ability to comprehend and connect with the text at hand. Vocabulary and language development will be integrated as well. Students will also learn a systematic approach to writing narrative, informational, and persuasive pieces including a biographical project, short narrative writing, and a persuasive essay. Students will be introduced to the MLA format with step by step instruction and support.
When only one semester is needed, it is strongly recommended that students take semester A of the language arts course.
Students will need access to a printer and a scanner, scanner app or digital camera in order to submit work for the teacher to review.
