Life Skills for Middle Schoolers (LS3)
1 (semester course)
This course is intended to help you get the practical skills that you need to manage your life every day. We'll spend nine weeks learning about finances with everything from banking to budgets, and then we'll spend the other nine weeks making simple meals and doing your own laundry, basic sewing, hemming and more. An important part of Life Skills is managing your time and being organized, so we'll learn about that as well. You can begin to learn the necessary skills you'll need for life on your own one day now while you're still at home. Come and join in on the fun! (It's fun for parents as well!)
Life Skills is an exciting elective class that is perfect for middle schoolers. This class will help students grow in practical wisdom that they will need as they head out to college or a full-time job in the next few years!
This course is divided into 2 parts. During the first part we will be learning together how to take care of ourselves. This section includes cooking, organizing, cleaning, and even some sewing! During the second part we will be learning together how to take care of the resources God gives us. This section will be an extensive study of money management which will include the realm of finances, banking, credit cards, giving, spending and we will even tackle the looming question of, “How will I pay for college?”
I hope you will join me this year in Life Skills for Middle Schoolers. Proverbs 2:10 says, “For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul." May the knowledge that you gain in this class bring you joy!
