2 (yearlong course)
Math 7 (MA7)
Course topics include those traditionally taught in a pre-algebra course. Concepts and skills reviewed and reinforced: simplifying expressions, single variable equations and inequalities, percent and proportions, linear functions, systems of linear equations, irrational numbers and radicals, area and volume, transformations, and scatter plots. Students will be guided in their learning through written material, videos, and web-based activities and assessments.
Access to a scanner or digital camera is highly recommended for this course as students will be required to submit work on multiple assignments throughout the semester/year.
All course resources and lesson materials will be available through the NSA Learning Management System to be viewed online or printed. There is no textbook to purchase.
Are you curious about topics important to you? Do you have an interest in learning new things and sharing that information with others? This course will teach you how to navigate beginning research topics, communicate with your peers via video and writing and read with a question in mind to improve your understanding of text. This course is designed to be a journey of learning through reading and writing by exploring topics of your choice. You are the expert and will become more skilled as you build your skills.
If there are books and materials for this course, they can be purchased from our Online Bookstore.
I found the class to be very organized and followed a specific routine (which was very nice), and I enjoyed the easily accessible lessons.
This was a very easy to follow course. I knew that every thee weeks I was going to have a test, which made it easier to study.
We were able to quiz each other and help each other out.
