New for 26-27!
Whether you’re a performer, critic, or fan, you’ll take a deeper look at the production process of movies and theater performances. Throughout this course, you will gain insights from industry leaders and learn to think critically about the many different aspects of production. You’ll explore how productions move from a simple idea to a finished performance, learning about everything from camerawork and lighting to sound, set design, and costume creation.
FROM THE TEACHER
Whether you enjoy creating your own productions or simply love being part of the audience, this course will open your eyes to the many decisions that shape movies and theatrical performances. Throughout the course, you’ll watch and analyze film clips to explore key production elements like lighting, sound, and camera work.
While we won’t be filming our own productions, you will learn how to plan and design all the pieces that go into bringing a story to life just like real filmmakers and directors do. You will also learn what it is like to be a film critic and write a full film review. I hope you will join us!
If there are books and materials for this course, they can be purchased from our Online Bookstore.
