Advanced Art: Portfolio Development (DRAW310)
0.5 (semester course)
Drawing 2 (DRAW102) & Painting 2 (PTNG102)
This class is a special project/independent study class for advanced art students who wish to work on portfolio work for college entrance requirements. The student will work with the art teacher to set at least four technique/project goals. Students will develop at least four pieces that are portfolio worthy for college entrance requirements. Topics that the student may explore include drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, clay, video production, animation, etc.
The Arts were created to provide us with ways to worship. Most of us associate music with worship, but the visual arts are just as valuable! God created beauty and through art we can reflect that beauty back to him. Just like musicians need training, artists need some training, too.
This class is aimed at the grade 11 and 12 students that would like to learn more about art, become more visually literate and proficient in their drawing, painting and composition skills. As a student, you will select four areas of interest to explore and will prepare four pieces that represent their best work for use in their college entrance art portfolios.
As part of the class we will also explore the field of aesthetics, the study of beauty, so that you are able to think like an artist, too.
So, I am looking forward to having you in class and we can work together to expand your technical skills, expression of ideas and to create a portfolio that will meet the requirements of college entrance.

I learned a lot from the quote discussion, feedback and class critique. Thank you.
I think this course offered a lot, and i enjoyed a lot of it.
Mrs. Klinker was extremely helpful throughout the process. Her advice was valid and easy to understand. She explained everything so well and I enjoyed her enthusiasm for art.
