FROM THE TEACHER

The Arts were created to provide us with ways to worship. Most of us associate music with worship, but the visual arts are just as valuable! God created beauty, and through art, we can reflect that beauty back to him. Just like musicians need training, artists need some training, too. This class is aimed at the student that would like to learn more about art, become more visually literate, and improve their drawing and composition skills. We will explore a variety of media including the basics: pencil, colored pencils, and paint, as well as more diverse media: markers, papier mache, and collage. We even do a little cartooning! Yes, there is something for everyone’s interests. So, I am looking forward to having you in class and we can work together to make art a valuable part of your self-expression.

If there are books and materials for this course, they can be purchased from our Online Bookstore.

Student Feedback

I enjoyed the pictures of other students and her art work shown in the lesson plans as examples. I also liked the techniques I learned. I also liked that I learned more about the color wheel.
