At NorthStar Academy, our new Entrepreneurship 1 course isn’t just about starting a business—it’s about transforming how students see challenges, purpose, and their calling.

So, what exactly is an entrepreneurial mindset?

It’s a way of thinking that blends growth, grit, and a passion for impact:

  • Growth Mindset: Striving for improvement, being adaptable, all while being focused on your mission, vision, and values.
  • Grit: Cultivating the passion and perseverance to pursue long-term goals, even when obstacles arise.
  • Redefining Failure: Understanding that true failure isn’t falling short—it’s never trying in the first place.
  • Opportunity Seeking: Not waiting for problems to land on your doorstep, but actively seeking ways to serve, improve, and innovate.

But what makes this course Christ-centered?

Our approach is rooted in the truth of Romans 12:2:

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Entrepreneurship becomes a form of spiritual transformation, a way to discern calling and vocation. When students step into who God has created them to be, they help bring shalom—wholeness and restoration—to a broken world.

As author Jordan Raynor writes in Called to Create:“Anyone who takes a risk to create something new for the good of others” is living out a calling.

This course helps students discover how to:

Proactively solve problems
Communicate effectively and work collaboratively
Think creatively and critically
Build ventures that serve others with purpose and integrity

When students commit to growth rather than comfort and impact rather than complacency, they live out the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17:

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”If you’re ready to see challenges as opportunities and use your gifts to create meaningful change, Entrepreneurship 1 could be your next step.
