Apologetics - Understanding the Times (BIBL400)
Bible and Worldview
1.0 (yearlong course)
Foundations for the Christian Worldview (BIBL300); recommended for 11th grade or later.
*Updated for 2019-2020!
(Previously offered as WDVW300 - Worldviews in Conflict. Credit for this course can be applied to the 1.0 credit graduation requirement for worldview studies.)
Prior understanding of apologetics and the Christian worldview is assumed for this course (BIBL300 Foundations for the Christian Worldview or equivalent). Thus, the year-long course is an advanced survey of six contemporary philosophical worldviews (Christianity, Islam, Secular Humanism, Marxist Humanism, Cosmic Humanism (New Age), and Postmodernism) across the following disciplines: theology, philosophy, ethics, science, psychology, sociology, law, politics, economics, and history. The course concludes with strategies for apologetic counter-cultural engagement.
Due to the significant in-depth reading required in this course, it is suggested for 11th and 12th grade students.
This class should be an immediate follow up to Foundations for Worldview. We will look at how our Christian worldview impacts other worldviews. This is a senior level course, preparing students for college. College students will encounter varying worldviews on campus; the questions are will they recognize it and will they be able to defend a biblical worldview. Away from the protections of home, their Christianity will be challenged. The world is asking really good questions; Christians have really good answers, but if students do not know those answers, they can be dissuaded from their Christian faith. The lies can sound very convincing if they do not know the truth. This class will help those students be ready to defend their beliefs.

The course is pretty well set up and easy to navigate.
I really liked this class.
The videos where extremely helpful to me as I am a visual learner and they elaborated on the reading material.
